I was born into Christianity, as of lately I am beginning to question if Jesus was real or not, we are told of stories, read the bible and we believe in something that we have no idea is actually there. If there was a true god where has he been for the last 2000 years, why hasn't he shown up? How can people blindly accept his way?
Quote from CSI :) (Grissom)
ReplyDelete"You're primitive man on the savannah. You see something move out of the corner of your eye. You assume it's a hyena. You run, you live. If you assume it's the wind and you're wrong, you die. We have the genes of the ones who ran. We're genetically hard-wired to believe living forces that we cannot see."
So we are used to "see" things that do not exist..
Religion is something that shouldn't be taken as fact. It's called a faith for a reason. I was really born into a mixed house, but now that I'm older I question God and whatnot.
ReplyDeleteConvert to pastafarianism
ReplyDeleteI only believe in what I've experienced but am also big into respecting everyone views and ideals.
ReplyDeleteI have some religious rants on my blog that you might want to have a look at. I have a well read bias opinion.

Nice blog. I'm christian as well.
ReplyDeleteBecause, it gives their life meaning or something. I don't know.
ReplyDeleteIt varies from person to person.
ReplyDeleteOriginally, in the old days before Bill Nye brought the gift of science, people used deities to explain things (gravity, oceans, purpose, etc).
The battle between theists and non-theists will never end :S I personally don't believe in God but I admit that religion played an important role in culture and cannot just be ignored.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh You should look into Oolon Colluphid's trilogy of philosophical blockbusters Where God Went Wrong, Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes and Who is this God Person Anyway?
ReplyDeleteInteresting post, i am Christian anyway :)
ReplyDeleteWell, Jesus was as real as any other historical figure. The question is whether or not he was/is the son of God. That is, of course, something you must determine yourself.
ReplyDeleteYou make some interesting points
ReplyDeleteI'm christian, born into at least, and i find some interesting points in your post, i'll follow you : )
ReplyDeleteKeep following this line of thought, friend! :D
ReplyDeletethere's no god, got nothing more to say :-P
ReplyDeleteI was raised in a strict irish catholic family, which is why I'm an atheist.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way to argue with religion. Just let it be, eventually people will come to their senses.
ReplyDeleteI'm a believer and it's primarily because of my family and how I've seen his influence in my life.
ReplyDeleteI'm an ateist
ReplyDeleteever since i was born my family wasnt that strict on religion but i grew up with it and if i say im a atheist they wont truly accept me i think so im stuck :(
ReplyDeleteoh god...
ReplyDeletei'm glad i ran into this post. i was thinking today about how life tests a person. and then i realized christians say all the time that god is testing their faith.
ReplyDeletei hate tests.
couple nights ago i was drunk with some friends and i said "i'm pretty positive there is a god because that many bad things can't happen like that without some kind of divine intervention" and then i proceeded to explain how terrible it was to forget something upstairs and not get my key in the lock the first try. it's just the little insignificant things that end up spiraling out of control.
ReplyDeleteI'm Agnostic myself. Interesting blog.

I don't believe in god. Realy nice blog! +follow
ReplyDeletePeople believe in God because it can be easier than to think there is no one actually watching... Proud atheist here
ReplyDeletebeats me
ReplyDeleteCheck my blog you might find some answers... :-)
ReplyDeleteI've thought about this a lot. If there is a God, no matter that God's form, I don't think I'd take time out of my life to worship. God is supposed to be perfect. If he/she/it requires me to take time out of my day to pray and to worship, then it is vain. If God is vain, God isn't perfect and, therefore, isn't God at all.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jesus didn't exist, but that doesn't mean a deity like God is impossible. And I don't think believing in God makes you a moron like everyone else seems to think, I don't think I'm a moron lol
